My bookkeeping journey began back in 2002 when I was a single mom. I have a Degree in Criminology from the University of Ottawa and had worked in group homes for 3 years and also ran a home daycare for 2 years. I decided it was time to move onto a new phase of my life, to obtain my next goal in bookkeeping. I completed my bookkeeping education with a Diploma in Accounting and Computer Applications from Toronto School of Business with Honours in 2003.
I began working immediately doing bookkeeping and admin for a small business, then moved onto an accounting firm. I gained experience not only in bookkeeping, but also with arranging year ends and preparing for review engagements and audits.
After 2 years at the accounting firm, I went out on my own and worked as a Sub-Contractor, which gave me the opportunity to work with many different types of businesses.
I have joined the Envolta team in November 2016 and have enjoyed every day. Envolta has so much support and learning with a great team environment. Everyone is committed to getting the job done properly and accurately.
I have an amazing husband and am the proud mother to three terrific boys and one daughter. My family is very important to me. I believe in the importance of being present in your children’s daily life and spending a lot of family quality time together. I am active in supporting my children with their education and extra curricular activities including hockey, basketball, and Karate. As a family, we enjoy camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and trail biking. Pretty much anything outdoors! I am also involved with the Goulbourne Basketball Association, coaching various teams from Novice to Bantam levels both house league and competitive. Having played many years of competitive basketball, lacrosse, hockey, and soccer, I have a love for sports and children so coaching enables me to spend time with my children and teach others at the same time.
